Shawn Guku Reference Sheet

Here's a long-overdue reference sheet of my main (and for the most part, only) character, Shawn Guku. Also there's a bio and shit.



Full Name: Shawn Lee Guku
Age: 23 (minus approximately 1000 years in cryo stasis)
Species: Ritjëssian
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Marital Status: Single, not looking
Height: 5’7’’

Abilities: : Guku's powers mostly come from the extensive use of Dark Matter energy, giving him a series of energy waves and blasts, as well as a limited type of flight.
Weaknesses: Overconfidence, lack of skill with his powers resulting in self-injury and exhaustion
Personality: Angry, though he manages to keep it under the surface, he's got a deeply-rooted hatred of the world. He manages to keep his anger in check by seeing his own life in third person, having some difficulty differentiating his real emotions from the ones he's manufactured for himself.

Singularity Bomb: A highly concentrated ball of energy that eventually condenses into a miniature, controllable black hole. It takes extreme concentration, and if he's interrupted while forming it, he runs the risk of getting sucked in. It's a more advanced technique that requires the most complete control over his powers.

Hyper Guku: His whole body becomes a conduit for channeling Dark Matter energy, his eyes glow a bright green that eclipses his pupils and irises, while his hair stands on end, with his hair and fur taking on a green color as well. In this state, Guku can stay airborne indefinitely, so long as the transformation remains. However, extended use of the Hyper state results in damage to the skin, such as wounds opening up through which energy pours out; the damage will eventually extend to the point that his whole body becomes unstable, at which point he'll be bedridden for up to a week; if he still continues the transformation past this point, he risks such an unstability that he risks blowing off a limb, or eventually blowing his whole body up.

Fighting Style: Guku lacks any training, formal or otherwise, of any kind in martial arts or self-defense. His moves are often erratic and unpredictable, with a lot of his attacks relying heavily on propelling his fists, legs, and entire body with Dark Matter energy to add extra force behind his attacks.

Back Story: This story ties in with KetaniaVahltae’s character at the end. It also takes place in the same solar system as CN ( supersonic88 )

The planet Ritjës, during the first millennium of rebuilding, saw the skies go dark, with an eerie green aura surrounding the clouds. These ominous clouds were broken by a series of falling stars, tearing through the skies at incredible speeds. The people were in awe at the fearful yet beautiful sight they were beholding, but their sightseeing was cut short when the objects collided with the surface of their world. From the craters emerged tall, hulking figures that on first glance, one would think "giant robot", but on closer inspection, these machines had flesh, blood, they respirated. These machines had a biological component to them.

The biomachines towered over an average-sized Ritjessian, and as if to say "We do not come in peace," they immediately activated their program and took to rounding up as many Ritjessians as possible, through any means. They would extend their claws to capture individuals, while the tentacle-like apendages on their chests would form a net-like structure to capture larger groups. The captives were immediately placed in pods located on the Biomechs' backs.

During the invasion, Shawn Lee Guku, confronted with enslavement discovered a power within himself. He had the spark that the ancestral race had, as he felt a rush of energy within himelf he discovered a strength and speed that had been forgotten for a thousand years. The Biomech he encountered would not have a successful hunt that day, for Guku's awakening powers granted him the strentgh to resist. As the living machine's claw attempted its strike, Guku's body transformed. He emitted a glow not unlike the green aura haunting the clouds, the machine didn't stand a chance. After the encounter, all that remained was the signature clawlike appendage. Guku picked it up and ran with it, in hopes that it could somehow be used against the invaders.

As he ran for cover, he came across a cavern, only illuminated by the faint green glow of the severed Biomech claw. Guku took a few steps and took a stumble down what felt to him like a set of stairs. He stood, with a considerable headache, and saw a smooth, reflective surface infront of him. In the limited visibility, he was able to notice a set of red rims forming under his eyes, but before he had time to question that, the surface disappeared--as if it had peeled back before his presence. It was then that he ralised he was standing at the entrance to some sort of structure.

Upon some quick exploration of the structure, Guku managed to find the pilot’s seat, and interpreted the structure to be a vehicle of some sort. Taking his seat, the cockpit illuminated. An array of unknown, yet somewhat familiar, keyboards and heads-up displays decorated the room. Though the dialect was unfamiliar to him, Guku was able to read and quickly establish an understanding of the vessel he was commandeering. A few strokes of some keys, and the surface above him cracked; the ground shook, and for the first time in a thousand years, Ritjes saw spaceflight.

Once he was adrift in space, Guku took a look at the course display, with listings of all the planets in the solar system. The nearest planet was “Thalea”, described as being hospitable for his type of life form, he set a course, and the onboard computer directed him to the ship’s cryo-chamber. Guku read the instructions carefully, ingesting a fluid designed to make the cryogenics freeze his whole body thoroughly. Taste, he thought, had been overlooked in this design.

A year passed, and the ship reached its destination. Unfortunately, Guku's incomplete understanding of the ancient dialect of his own language, combined with his eratic mental state and general carelessness, all meant that the course had been crudely plotted. The skies of Thalea saw a single falling star, and though the ship remained in functioning order after impacting the surface, the automatic awakening process in the cryo chamber faltered. And so, the Ritjessian.

Still in cryo sleep, Guku slept for a millenia, oblivious to the changes going on in the world around him. Until the day when he was awoken, his vision still blurry, he saw a vague, purple silhouette…


Outfits: Normally wears a black button-down dress shirt with a red undershrit and bluejeans, with black shoes with white detailing. Also wears a lime-green thong as his primary choice of underwear, also serving as an alternate outfit on its own. Also occasionally wears a space suit (not shown).

Character Background: Like a lot of people, I started with a recolor; an inverted, hedgehogified SSJ4 Goku. The character's appearance and backstory have slightly altered over the years to eventually become what you see now, still maintaining the same color scheme and some fairly obvious Goku-like characteristics.
The name "Shawn Lee Guku has its own origin. Shawn was the name of a pet I used to own, and Lee is my actual middle name. Guku, of course, comes from Goku; a typo, that I liked and decided to keep.
Personality-wise, Guku is a parody of myself. I try to recognize my own flaws and exaggerate them through this character.


NOTE: This character's backstory and existence are not associated with any existing fictional series. Although his story has many references and homages to other series (and even admittedly a few that are just plain ripoffs), he is NOT a fancharacter.
